This would be possible to achieve, and sounds like something that would make our widgets in custom dashboards better.
FYI - With the current way our setup is for Social Media posts (not overall metrics), it would however not be the _metrics_ within the selected time period you filter, but the total numbers for posts published within the selected time period (even if some of the impressions/clicks etc happened outside of the time period).
