This article explains how to use the available widgets and tools to build a Custom Dashboard based on best practices.
This ensures you can make the best decisions based on your insights and share relevant data with clients and stakeholders in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
1. Drag and Drop Available Widgets
Add the widgets you need to visualize your data by using drag and drop.
The guided setup process makes it easy to navigate through each step when:
Adding a new widget
Editing an existing widget
This ensures you can quickly configure and adjust your dashboard as needed.
2. Use Tags to Organize Your Data
Tags help you organize and filter data efficiently.
In a Custom Dashboard, you can use tags to:
Visualize different campaign types
Separate products or business areas
Display data across multiple widgets in a structured way
To add or update tags on multiple widgets at once, use bulk selection:
Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac)
Click the widgets you want to edit
This saves time and ensures consistency across your dashboard.
3. Add a Text Box for Context
Use the text box widget to provide context to the dashboard, especially when sharing it with clients or stakeholders.
You can include:
Explanations for increases or decreases in key metrics
Market developments
Campaign changes
General comments or insights
Adding context makes the dashboard more valuable and easier to understand.
4. Lock the Date Range
To ensure viewers are analyzing the correct data period, lock the date range in your Custom Dashboard.
The date range is locked per tab:
If your dashboard has one tab, the entire dashboard will follow the same date range
If you use multiple tabs, each tab can have its own locked date range
This ensures consistent reporting and avoids confusion.
5. Save the Custom Dashboard as a Template
If you want to reuse your dashboard setup across other organizations in Fyr, save it as a template.
To create a template:
Open the dashboard in edit mode
Use the toolbar at the top
Select the option to generate a template
Once saved, you can quickly apply the same dashboard structure to other organizations you have access to.
