More Control in Google Performance Max
New Visibility in Performance Max
Google has just announced another round of reporting improvements for Performance Max, giving marketers more visibility into how their campaigns perform across assets and channels.
What’s New
1. Smarter Asset Insights
You can now segment asset performance by:
- Device
- Time
- Conversions
- Network
This makes it easier to see what’s driving results and to optimize your asset mix with more precision.
2. Expanded Channel Performance Insights
Google has added several highly requested features, including:
- Downloads of channel performance at the account level
- Cost added to channel visualization
- ROI columns now available in the reporting table
- Segment results by conversion action & ad event type (e.g., engaged view conversions)
- Additional diagnostics (e.g., limited serving due to restrictive bid targets)
And more improvements are on the way as Google continues to expand transparency in Performance Max.
Why It Matters
Performance Max has often been called a “black box.” These updates give marketers clearer visibility into what’s working, where it’s working, and why. Helping you:
- Pinpoint which assets drive performance across devices and networks.
- Track ROI more effectively with new cost and conversion columns.
- Diagnose campaign limitations faster.
Our Take
As Performance Max continues to evolve, having this extra visibility will help you balance automation with strategic control and making it easier to compare PMax performance with your other channels.
