What are Automations?
Automations let Fyr handle certain optimization tasks for you automatically. Instead of manually acting on every recommendation, you can tell Fyr to take care of specific types of tasks on its own.
For example, you can automate excluding irrelevant search terms from your Google Ads campaigns, so Fyr does it for you whenever new irrelevant terms appear.
Where to find Automations
Go to Settings → Automations, or navigate from Recommendations → Automations in the top menu.
How Automations relate to Recommendations
Not every recommendation can be automated — only certain types support it. When a recommendation has an automation available, you'll see an "Automation available" label next to it. The automations page lists all available automation types and their current status (enabled or disabled).
Enabling an automation
- Find the automation you want to enable in the list
- Click View to see what it does and which accounts it applies to
- Click Enable to turn it on
- Confirm in the popup
Once enabled, Fyr will automatically act on that type of recommendation going forward. This is a one-time setup — you don't need to re-enable it each time.
Disabling an automation
You can turn off any automation at any time from the same page. Disabling an automation stops Fyr from taking automatic action, but doesn't undo any changes that were already made.
What can be automated?
Available automations depend on which channels you have connected. Common examples include:
- Exclude irrelevant search terms — Automatically add negative keywords when Fyr detects search terms that don't match your intent
- Apply shared negative keyword lists — Ensure all campaigns use your negative keyword lists
- Pause ads with broken landing pages — Stop spending on ads that lead to error pages
Auto-Tagging
In addition to recommendation-based automations, Fyr also offers Auto-Tagging — rules that automatically tag your campaigns, ad groups, or ads based on conditions you define. This helps keep your data organized without manual effort. See our Auto-Tagging article for more details.
Good to know
- You need connected ad accounts with data for automations to appear
- Automations run on Fyr's schedule — they're not instant, but typically execute within a few hours of detecting an issue
- All automated actions are logged, so you can review what Fyr has done on your behalf
